DALLAS (CBSDFW) - Dallas police had to blow up a suspicious package that was dropped off by an unidentified person in front of their headquarters this morning.

According to police, a unknown woman left a bag in front of the main Dallas Police Department building at 1400 South Lamar at approximately 2:30 am Thursday.

Video surveillance shows a silver Doge Neon parking on northbound S. Lamar Street. A black female exits the vehicle, walks to the front doors of the Jack Evans building and drops off what appears to be a gift bag.

Out of precaution, Police called the bomb squad, which detonated the package.

It appears to have been a gift bag with harmless items inside.  But police are tense after a man shot up the headquarters building two months ago.

Police are asking for your help by viewing the video and contacting the Dallas Police Criminal Intelligence Unit at 214-671-3305 if you have any information regarding this incident or this individual.
