USGS Confirms 2.8 Magnitude Earthquake In Irving

IRVING, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - The U.S.Geological Survey (USGS) has confirmed that an earthquake did hit near Irving this morning.
According to the USGS, the quake was a registered at 2.8 magnitude and hit just after 8:00 this morning.
Officials say it happened about two and a half miles northeast of Irving.

1080 KRLD received got calls from residents in the Las Colinas area who reported feeling the shaking.
The tremor is the latest of several recent quakes to hit North Texas, the strongest ranking at a 3.4 magnitude.
None have caused any damage, but they are fueling concerns that hydraulic fracking for oil and natural gas is responsible.
