NORTH TEXAS (CBSNewsTexas.com) – We're tracking more scattered storms in your First Alert Forecast this week, along with much cooler weather just in time for Halloween.

An upper-level low to our west will continue to keep our forecast unsettled for the next few days.

So, for today, keep your rain gear nearby – we'll see a few on and off scattered showers. A few isolated thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening. 

Areas west of I-35 will have the best chance of seeing showers and storms today. The threat for severe weather remains low.  Otherwise, expect mostly cloudy skies. High temperatures will be in the lower 80s.

Tonight, a few scattered showers and isolated storms are possible. Low temperatures will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s.

On Wednesday, your umbrella will be needed, especially by afternoon and evening as a cold front approaches North Texas.

Some storms could produce heavy rain and gusty winds late Wednesday night into Thursday morning. The chance for rain is around 70% on Thursday.

High temperatures will be in the mid 80s Wednesday and Thursday.

More storms are expected Friday through Sunday. No day will be a washout, but prepare for some wet weather for your weekend.

From now through the end of the weekend, parts of North Texas could see between 1 and 2 inches of rain or higher, especially areas west of Highway 281.

Then, by late Sunday into Monday, a cold front will push significantly cooler weather our way.

Highs on Sunday will be in the mid 70s. By Monday and Tuesday (Halloween), highs will be in the 50s!
