Unknown Rape Suspect Linked To 3 Attacks
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The same suspect has been linked to a number of sexual assaults in the city of Dallas, now police are asking for your help identifying him.
Dallas police investigators say forensic evidence confirms the same unknown man committed at least three separate rapes. The first attacks happened in October and November of 2008.
The most recent attack occurred less than two weeks ago, on October 17. That rape happened just after 6 a.m. when the attacker forced his way into a house near N. Glasgow Drive and Reiger Avenue.
All of the sexual assaults have been confined to an area bordered by Mockingbird Lane to the north, Central Expressway to the west and Grand Avenue to the southeast. "This sexual predator is watching these people and knows their habits and knows where they're going," explained Deputy Chief Craig Miller, with the Dallas Police Department. "Right now we're wanting to inform people about this so they can take any precaution."
All of the women were attacked during the early morning hours, between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Police say the suspect woke his victims, assaulted them, and then stole electronic items.
The suspect is described as a black male in his late 20's and standing approximately 5'11. The man is believed to weigh around 180 pounds and has a clean-shaven or baldhead.
Victims say the attacker speaks with a foreign accent and authorities believe he could possibly be of Indian or African descent. Police also say the man usually strikes on weekends and appears to watch duplexes and townhouses.
Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the offender.
