Undercover Drug Operation Leads To Chase In Kaufman
KAUFMAN (CBSDFW.COM) - An undercover drug operation resulted in the arrest of two men after authorities were led on a high speed chase in Kaufman last week.
Carl Lynn Fulton Jr., 28, of Euless and Joseph Shane Icenhower, 22, of Sulphur Springs, were taken into custody on Tuesday, Nov. 20 on various drug-related charges, according to a release from the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office.
A Kaufman County Narcotics team, along with Kaufman County deputies and the Kaufman Police Department, were in the process of investigating a drug buy operation at an undisclosed location in Kaufman. When authorities attempted to stop the vehicle, it accelerated into traffic at high speeds south on Jackson Street.
As the suspects fled northbound on Highway 243 at speeds exceeding 95 mph, the suspects threw objects out the passenger window. As the suspects headed back toward the Kaufman County Court House, they were taken into custody without injury.
Officers were able to recover most of the property thrown from the vehicle, including over $720 in cash, a brown paper bag containing clear plastic baggies with a set of digital scales, three cell phones, 15 grams of what is believed to be methamphetamine and several pills believed to be Xanex.
Fulton was charged with the manufacture and delivery of a substance in penalty group one; tampering with or fabricating physical evidence; evading arrest or detention; and possession of a dangerous drug. He also had outstanding warrants from the Cockrell Hill Police Department. His bond is set at $1,110,611.00.
Icenhower was charged with manufacture and delivery of a substance in penalty group one; tampering with or fabricating physical evidence; and evading arrest or detention. He also had outstanding warrants out of Van Zandt County and Hopkins County. Bail was not made available to Icenhower.
Both suspects were transported to the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center.
