UFC's Best Walkout Songs
DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) -- UFC 169 takes place Saturday night live from the Prudential Center in New Jersey. The card is headlined by a Bantamweight title fight between challenger Urijah Faber and champion Renan Barao. In the Co-Main event, the UFC Featherweight title will be on the line when Champion Jose Aldo takes on challenger Ricardo Lamas.
Both of these fights make this card a must watch for a fan like myself, and I can't wait to see how the night plays out. Will Barao continue his dominance in the UFC and solidify himself as one of the top pound for pound fighters in the world? Will Urijah Faber finally get that UFC title he has been so desperate to attain?
In the Co-Main event we get a chance to see if Jose Aldo can continue his dominance and defeat Ricardo Lamas. If Aldo can come out victorious, UFC President Dana White has hinted that a super-fight between Aldo and Lightweight champion Anthony Pettis may be next.
One thing that makes this card even more exciting is the quality of the walk out song that we are going to here in the Co-Main and Main events on Saturday night. Some of my favorites in all of MMA will be heard Saturday night and it got me so excited I felt it was time for a list!
Here are my 5 favorite walkout songs in all of MMA:
5. Joseph Benavidez. Song-Stranglehold by Ted Nugent
There was no way that I was going to pass on a fighter that acknowledges the greatness of Ted Nugent and the G-Bag Nation! Great song to get pumped up for a fight! Plus- you are able to take your sweet-a** time getting to the Octagon in the 8 minutes that it takes for Nugent to sing this song.
4. Urijah Faber. Song- California Love by 2Pac
Faber is as Californian as it gets. From his attitude all the way down to his hair. The dude embraces where he is from and the crowd supports him no matter where he fights. Faber will definitely be walking out to California Love on Saturday night as he looks to have a 2014 that mirrors his 2013 (4-0).
3. Frank Mir. Song- Amazing by Kanye West
Mir has always been an exciting fighter but this list is all about the song. Amazing is all about ME and that is what a fighter needs on fight night. Only downfall... It is a Kanye West song.
2. Jose Aldo. Song- Run This Town by Jay-Z and Rihanna
I know that coming out to Rihanna may not sound like the manliest thing in the world to do, but very few fighters show the same kind of energy that we see from Aldo as he comes in to Jay-Z and Rihanna talking about dominating this town on this night. First time I saw Aldo use this song was when he went into Urijah Faber's hometown and literally "Ran that town" for the night as he dominated Faber. Can't wait to see Aldo on Saturday as he is just one fight away form a super-fight with Anthony Pettis.
1. Anderson Silva. Song- No Sunshine remix by DMX
Anderson Silva is the greatest MMA fighter of all-time and he has the best walkout music. This version of this song is awesome to begin with and when you combine it with Anderson Silva walking out to the octagon it couldn't get any better. Anderson Silva will be back in the UFC and that means that DMX will be back with him which is also a good thing.
