1 Person Wounded In Duncanville Shooting

DUNCANVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) - One person was wounded late Sunday night after an argument erupted in gunfire outside of a bowling alley in Duncanville. It happened around 11:30 p.m. at the Red Bird Bowling Lanes, located in the 1100 block of South Main Street, near Azalea Lane.

According to a city spokesperson, a group of bowling alley patrons got into a fight, and that fight ended with a shooting. Witnesses said that 10 to 15 rounds of gunfire were heard.

The victim was taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center and was alert and talking to detectives, officials said.

Police in Duncanville said that they were looking for three suspects, and were aided in their search, for some time, by the Dallas Police Department's helicopter. But, so far, there have been no arrests and no word on what led up to the fight.

At least one bullet from the shooting shattered a window across the street, at a small storefront church. Five shots total actually hit the building. The pastor of the church, Morne Slabberts, lives there with his wife and three kids. While none of them were injured during this scary incident, Slabberts said that the family had been in the damaged part of the church just 30 minutes before shots were fired.
