WESLACO, TX (CBSDFDW.COM) -- Authorities in Texas seized over two tons of marijuana valued at more than $24 million during a traffic stop in Starr County on Monday morning.

A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper stopped a 2005 Freightliner truck tractor towing a flatbed trailer for inspection on U.S. 83 west of Roma.

The inspection revealed 174 bundles totaling 4,040 pounds of marijuana concealed inside the pressure washer skid on the trailer.

The driver of the truck -- Carlos A. Lozano, 42, of Pasadena, Texas -- was arrested for possession with intent to distribute marijuana and conspire to possess marijuana.

He was placed in federal custody as the investigation continues.

Starr County is located along the U.S.-Mexico border just west of McAllen.
