2 Dead & 1 Hurt In Dallas Drive-By Shooting

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The hunt is on Tuesday morning for the suspect in a drive-by shooting that left two men dead and a third person wounded. It happened just after 11:00 p.m. on Monday night outside of a home located in the 1800 block of Gallagher Street in west Dallas.

According to police, several men were there shooting dice when an unknown suspect drove by and fired off many shots. Detectives marked dozens of bullets and casings on the ground as they investigated the case. Authorities believe that the suspect used a military-style rifle for the attack.

Four people were struck by bullets. Three of those victims were taken to Parkland Hospital in Dallas, where two later died. Those men have been identified as 18-year-old Tadarris Reed and 21-year-old James Johnson. The condition of the third hospitalized victim is not yet known. The fourth victim was simply grazed by a bullet and did not need to seek medical attention.

The home and a vehicle were also hit by gunfire.

A neighbor, who did not want to be identified, was angry and scared because some bullet casings were found in her yard. "Whoever did it, I hope you get caught," she said, "because you were too close to my home. I don't know who you are, but you need to be caught and put in jail. I'm going to say that because I've got kids and grandkids in my house, and I live here too."

Police have not released any information about a possible suspect in this case, or why this particular house may have been targeted.
