Two Teens Arrested For Setting Fire To Farmersville School

FARMERSVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) - Two teenagers have been arrested for vandalizing and setting fire to Farmersville Junior High School on Tuesday morning.

Farmersville police say the suspects, both 16 years old, were taken into custody separately. One of them has confessed to the crime, according to police.

Both of the suspects are being held in the Collin County Juvenile Detention Center. Their names are not being released.

Police say the suspects set a fire inside a bathroom -- and the heat from the flames caused damage to some pipes and caused severe flooding.

Classes have been cancelled at the school due to the extensive damage inside. About 400 6th-8th graders have been moved to different schools, until repairs are completed.

Farmersville police say the investigation continues as they continue to follow additional leads.
