Two DFW Natives Set To Play In Crowne Plaza Invitational At Colonial

FORT WORTH (CBS 11 NEWS) - The Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial will have a definite local flavor next month.

Dallas native Jordan Spieth and Fort Worth's Franklin Corpening have both received exemptions and agreed to play in the 2013 tournament.

HP Byron Nelson Championship - Round Two

The 19-year old Spieth is a graduate of Dallas Jesuit College Preparatory School and played at the University of Texas before turning pro last year.  Spieth most recently finished tied for ninth place at the RBC Heritage in Hilton Head, SC last weekend.   He's played in seven tournaments this season.  His best finish was a tie for second at the Puerto Rico Open in March.

Corpening is a graduate of Fort Worth's Paschall High School and turned pro in 2008 after graduating from TCU.  He currently competes on the Web.com Tour where his best finish this season was tied for 22nd at the Chile Classic in March.

The Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial is May 23-26 at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth.
