2 Dead In Irving Parking Lot Shooting, Suspect At Large

IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) – A person in a yellow sedan fired upon two men and a woman who had just climbed into an SUV in a parking lot across the street from the Irving Mall, killing the two men, an Irving Police spokesman said.

The woman was unharmed.

The three exited the AT&T Store in the 2700 block of Belt Line Road after 3 p.m. After the shots came from the yellow sedan, the suburban backed into a tree.

The passenger slumped out of the vehicle and died at the scene, said Irving Police spokesman John Argumaniz. The second man, who was driving, was taken to Parkland Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect sped away after the shooting. There were shell casings in the parking lot near the AT&T store.

Despite reports that the shooter may have fled in a taxicab, Irving Police can only say the vehicle was a yellow sedan.

Witness Roy Moreau said he heard shots and called 911 when he saw one of the victims.

"It happened so fast," he said.

The suburban the victims were in is registered to a person in Missouri City, just outside Houston. Police are now trying to identify the victims.

Editor's note: The photo caption incorrectly identified where the shooting occurred; it happened in the AT&T Store parking lot.
