Two Dead After Four Car Collision

DENTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Police are waiting for toxicology reports to see if alcohol or drugs played a part in four car accident that left two people dead Saturday night.

Ryan Grelle with the Denton Police Department confirms the crash happened around 9 p.m. A Nissan Altima driving westbound veered into an eastbound lane near the 8100 block of West University Drive. the Nissan then hit a Lexus, sending it into a spin. After hitting the Lexus the Nissan, ran into a Toyota Tacoma nearly head-on, causing the Toyota to crash into a PT cruiser.

57-year-old Barney Rhonda who was driving the Altima died from the impact of the crash.

The driver of the Tacoma was taken to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton, where he was declared dead. He has been identified as 21-year-old Abraham Ryan.

Both the 33-year-old male driver of the Lexus and the 20-year-old driver of the PT Cruiser were also taken to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton. They are both in stable condition.

The 29-year-old male PT Cruiser passenger was flown to Plano Medical Center. He remains in critical condition.
