ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - One person has been arrested after police found two people dead in a south Arlington home.

Wednesday night crime scene tape still surrounded the home, where family members say the bodies of Russ Dunnachie and his adult daughter were found.

Arlington police arrested Russ Dunnachie's wife, Veronica. She is facing a charge of capital murder. Court records show the couple was going through a divorce.

Police had been called to the home, in the 2500 block of Edinburgh Street, for a welfare check when they found the bodies. The caller said there could be people critically-injured at the home. Upon arrival, officers found the bodies of Russ Dunnachie and his daughter.

As police began their investigation they realized Veronica Dunnachie had left the home after the incident and was believed to have been trying to go to a local hospital. Police later found the woman at Millwood Hospital. The location specializes in mental health and chemical dependency care.

Dunnachie was taken into custody without incident.

Police haven't released information on how the father and daughter died, but said they do not believe any other suspects were involved in the incident.

Over the last eight years, neighbor Dave Vannatta said he had gotten to know the couple well. Family members told CBS 11 News the couple has three young children, along with two older children from previous relationships.

"Father was always out here with them playing baseball, basketball, always playing with them kids," Vannatta said. "I just seen him up here yesterday morning jogging in shorts."

The longtime family babysitter, Cara Vannatta, said that in recent weeks Veronica Dunnachie had not been acting like herself. "I never thought it would come to this point. I just knew they were having problems," she said.

The scene at the home prompted the lockdown of nearby Barnett Elementary.

The lockdown started about 3:20 afternoon, the time when students would normally be released to their parents or board buses to take them home.

The lockdown was lifted after a short time and students were safely released from school.

Police have not said whether the couple's young children and teenage son were home when the crime happened -- but they were not harmed.
