Two Arrested In Garland Road Rage Shooting

GARLAND (CBSDFW.COM) - Garland Police have arrested two men suspected of shooting and killing a Dallas man in a road rage incident.

Salazar Castaneda, 24, and Roberto Rosas-Gonzalez, 36, are facing murder charges for the killing of 20-year-old Miguel Moncada. The shooting took place on Jupiter Road near LBJ Freeway on Dec. 29.

Police responded to the scene around 1:30 a.m. and found two shooting victims inside a white truck in a Taco Bell parking lot. Moncada was transported to Doctors Hospital, where he later died. The second male victim survived the shooting and was transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital.

Police say the incident began as a dispute over who had the right-of-way in a construction zone.

"Were there some words exchanged between the two? We're not sure of that", said Garland Police spokesman Officer Joe Harn. "But we do know that we've got the people responsible for the shooting and the murder."

An anonymous tip eventually led detectives to the arrest. The two suspects are also facing charges of Possession with intent to deliver Cocaine, Possession with intent to deliver Methamphetamine, and Aggravated Assault.

Both men are currently being held in the Dallas County Jail.
