Two-Alarm Fire At Fort Worth Apartment Complex
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - The Fort Worth Fire Department responded Wednesday to a two-alarm apartment fire in east Fort Worth.
Black smoke was seen rising over Hidden Valley Estates Apartments at 807 Heights Drive. Fort Worth Fire Department officials say they had 24 units on scene battling the blaze.
The call came in to the fire department at approximately 6 pm. The first engine on the scene reported heavy fire showing from the structure. Fire fighters were pulled from the building after about 15 minutes due to the intensity of the flames.
Residents reportedly went door to door getting people out of the burning building.
Eight apartments where affected by the fire and no injuries were reported. However, one resident who spoke with CBS 11 News said he lost all of his family's possessions.
"That was everything. I'm thinking we're right before school and I just got my girls things. That's all we got right now," said complex resident David Williams.
The Fort Worth Fire Department is currently investigating what caused the fire.
