Twitter Will Help People Find Miles Austin's Party
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - We are about one month away from Super Bowl XLV at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, and the big game is bringing plenty of parties to North Texas, many hosted by famous names from the worlds of entertainment and sports. But one of those parties is still a big secret… for now.
Verizon has recruited Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin for their pre-game party on January 16, but there's just one problem – they have not revealed the location. In an area this large, the possibilities are endless. So, how will people find the party?
Follow Miles Austin.
Not literally, of course – although that would probably work – but follow the Dallas Cowboys star on Twitter (@MilesAustinIII). The popular social networking website will be the key to unlocking the location of this big mystery party.
Austin knows the location already, but he is not sharing it just yet. "Starting on the 16th, I'll be sending out clues during the day to lead up until the time the game is going to be on, and where the party's going to be," Austin said. There will be about one tweet every hour.
He's such a tease.
Not satisfied with Austin's lack of details, and being rather impatient, CBS 11 News traveled around the city searching for someone with insider information on the location of the party. Victory Park, House of Blues, The W Hotel, Chuck E. Cheese – nobody had a clue.
Nearly out of ideas, CBS 11 News found Tawfiq Tayeh, a cab driver who really knows North Texas and the word on the street. "This is the first I hear that," he said. "Maybe the Fairmount, or maybe the Anatole Hotel. It's one of the biggest hotels in the city."
So, with our mission unaccomplished, CBS 11 News – along with everyone else -- begins the waiting game on Twitter, following the football star's tweets until he decides to tell everyone where the big bash will take place. "I think I have like 80,000 followers, so hopefully we can get half those people there," Austin said.
