Twin Sisters Remembered After McKinney Double Murder

MCKINNEY (CBSDFW.COM) - McKinney police have charged Kelley Bigham in the shooting deaths of his estranged wife, Karen Bigham, and her twin sister, Kathy Boobar. The twins were found dead in Karen's home Monday evening, not far from McKinney North High School.
Karen worked out of her home as a hairdresser.
"I came to Karen to get my hair done, but I was friends with her daughter first," said Samantha Gerig. She's known Karen's family since she was about 7 years old, and never saw any indication of violence or distress. "We would talk about everything. She knows my entire life, and I know so much about her. And Kelley always seemed like a really nice guy. It's hard to think he could have done something like this."
Andrew Patterson lives down the street from Karen, and said that this worries him for several different reasons. "We reach out to each other in the neighborhood," he said. "What's concerning is that people would feel alone here. Hopefully this will be an opportunity for people to check up on each other more."
Kathy lived in Plano and is remembered as being very active in the community. She was in Junior League and on the financial board of Parkway Hills Baptist Church. She met her husband at age 16, and the two have been in love ever since. "You couldn't ask for a finer woman than Kathy," said Pastor Sam Dennis. "Her husband told me the other night, 'Pastor, I've lost my rock.'"
Dennis said that the service is going to be tough, but there's a lesson in all this. "We live in an angry culture today," the pastor said. "As Christians, I think we need to find a way to speak truth and love. When someone throws stuff like this at us, we can't throw it back. We have to be voices of reason and hope."
Kelley Bigham was caught in Rains County and brought back to Collin County Jail. He's charged with capital murder, and his bond is set at $1.5 million.
