FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Internationally known photographer, Jason Lanier said he and his crew were nearly killed while on a shoot in Fort Worth last Sunday.
The California-based photographer had set up near a walking path at Echo Lake Park when it happened.
He said they were only 30 minutes into the shoot when a pickup truck driver intentionally barreled right toward them and through the area they were set up in.
"If he would have continued down the path I would have certainly been smashed... and not just me," said Lanier.
No one was hurt but about $30,000 worth of his photography gear was smashed.
"I think they thought if they came up on that trail with the truck it would send the message it's time for you all to go," said Lanier.
His cameras captured both video and pictures of the moments right before and after he said the driver mowed through their shoot. He is hoping the evidence, which also took a snap shot of the truck's tag will help investigators find whoever is responsible.
Lanier offered this message to the driver.
"Don't be a menace... don't be a maniac. You can make someone a paraplegic. You can kill someone. I hope you get caught and I hope you pay for what you've done."
Lanier is set to meet with detectives Thursday morning.
Sheriff's officials are asking anyone who recognizes the truck in the video give them a call at 817.884.1215.
