Troops on the Way but Governor Says Not Enough

National Guard Troops arrive on the border in a couple of weeks, but not enough says the Governor's office.  250 of the 1200 National Guard Troops being stationed on the US/Mexico border as of August 1st will be in Texas.  Far short of what is needed says Governor's spokeswoman Katherine Cessinger.  "While we'll welcome any and all resources that the Federal Government is going to send to secure the border since it is their responsibility, this latest effort is insufficient to meet the needs of securing the border here."  Governor Perry has been asking for a minimum of one thousand troops since January of last year.  Cessinger says the ultimate goal of the federal government should be hiring enough border patrol to better seal the border and protect border residents.
