Traffic Changes Along DFW Connector Project
GRAPEVINE (CBSDFW.COM) - The DFW Connector Project in Grapevine has reached a major milestone. The project is almost complete, but there are a few things left for workers to finish. And, in order to get those done, new traffic patterns will go into effect along area roadways this weekend.
Starting at 8:00 p.m. on Friday night, some important changes will happen to portions of State Highway 114 and State Highway 121, as the crews move eastbound State Highway 114, from State Highway 26 to Main Street, into its final traffic pattern.
All eastbound lanes of State Highway 114 will be closed between State Highway 26 and Texan Trail. Also, drivers will not have access to the northbound lanes of State Highway 121 at Main Street. Instead, there will be detours onto the frontage road for both highway closures.
The road work is expected to be finished by 6:00 a.m. on Monday morning.
But there is some good news to report. Two permanent ramps along eastbound State Highway 114 have been completed -- the on-ramp at State Highway 26 and the off-ramp to Texan Trail. Drivers will be able to begin using those ramps starting this weekend.
The DFW Connector Project has been under construction for more than three years, and it is actually a year ahead of schedule.
