LEWISVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) - The driver of a tractor-trailer slams into a dividing wall along a North Texas toll road and the truck bursts into flames.
The accident happen just before 2 a.m. as the driver of the semi traveled from the southbound Sam Rayburn Tollway lanes to southbound Interstate-35E. As the driver took the ramp to I-35 the tractor trailer hit the "crash cushion" wall and caught fire.
The flames were exacerbated because the semi was loaded with paper products.
The driver of the truck was hurt and was taken to Medical Center of Lewisville, but the injuries are not life threatening.
The southbound ramp from the Sam Rayburn Toll to I-35E south is completely closed, as hazardous materials crews clean up oil that leaked from the truck onto the roadway. Officials say they don't know how long the ramp will be shut down.
