There are more working horse ranches in Denton County than in any other single county in the country. Denton is truly Horse Country USA!
"Between here and the Oklahoma border we have about four hundred real working horse ranches" said Dana Lodge of the Denton County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The Denton Horse Country Tours are scheduled six times a year and will take you into the world of world champion horses and riders, million dollar sires and internationally acclaimed trainers.
"There are so many beautiful horse farms and just the rolling landscape and it's so pretty. People drive through it all the time, in fact it is the largest impact on the agricultural economy in Denton County" said the VP of the Denton County Convention and Visitors Bureau Kim Phillips.
You will go behind the scenes with breeding managers and trainers to meet million dollar sires.
"One of our more famous stallions is "Gunners Special Nite" and he is one that showed in the World Equestrian Games with Tom McCutcheon and won that" said Barb Wibbels.
You'll enjoy a Chuck Wagon lunch on the guided tours with Alan Watt at the Oak Meadow Ranch. Self guided tours are also available throughout the year.
