Top Texas Gas Tank Getaways For Memorial Day Holiday
DALLAS, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - It is estimated that nearly 33% of North Texas residents will be hitting the road for a 'gas tank' holiday getaway this Memorial Day weekend.
TripAdvisor says that as gasoline prices have steadied, many local residents will take-off for a mini-vacation within 300 miles of the DFW area...the average distance of a one-way trip on a full tank of gas.
The top destinations North Texas target include: San Antonio (275 miles), Fredericksburg (255 miles), Austin (200 miles) Tulsa, OK ((260 miles) and Tyler (100 miles).
And the most popular Memorial Day activities for North Texas residents include: Sightseeing tours, Visiting a museum, shopping.
