Tony Romo's Summer Is Taking Shape

OXNARD (105.3 THE FAN) - Tony Romo's summer is taking shape.

And it's a healthy-enough shape, I'd say his usual 6-2, 235-pound shape, as opposed to the "fat-joke" shape that is the product of a warped photograph on social media.

"I think I've gone through enough criticism in my career, that is the least of my worries," Romo laughed Monday while addressing the media for the first time here at Cowboys training camp.

There are real Romo story angles here: His health, with the Cowboys always monitoring his back and the rest of his valuable frame, especially after he comes off missing most of 2015 with a pair of shoulder surgeries; his age, which is why the 36-year-old Will take some "Romo Wednesdays" off during this summer and throughout the season, most likely; his "window," with owner Jerry Jones is proclamations that Romo has "four or five years left" now something that Jerry has been saying for, oh ... the last for five years.

"We are on the same timetable," Romo said, again laughing.

The reaction to the distorted photo showing a seemingly portly Romo trudging onto the field for the first day of training camp is funny but preposterous. The QB appears to weigh about 280 in the shot.

"Granted, if I was that big, we would have to have some talks," Romo said with a smile. "But I think I will be alright."
