Tolleson Removed As Rangers Closer Says Banister

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Jeff Banister told the GBag Nation on 105.3 The Fan Wednesday afternoon that Shawn Tolleson will be removed from closing situations for the time being.

"Going forward, we'll make a change in the interim. We're going to give Tolley an opportunity to pitch in different situations," said Banister. "We're gonna wrap our arms around Tolly and figure out what's going on."

Tolleson simply hasn't been good this season. He's 11 for 15 on save chances, the latest being a walk-off grand slam served up to Oakland A's outfielder Khris Davis in last night's 8-5 loss.

Banister says that Sam Dyson will close for now.
