TMS 2013 Schedule Includes IndyCar Race
FORT WORTH (AP) - Texas Motor Speedway is set to host an IndyCar race for the 17th year in a row next June.
Tuesday's announcement ends speculation about immediate future of the open-wheel series at the Fort Worth track.
The speedway's 2013 schedule includes the usual IndyCar race plus two NASCAR Sprint Cup weekends for the ninth consecutive season. Track officials also announced a new Wild Asphalt Circus theme.
TMS president Eddie Gossage is still in the final stages of completing race sanction agreements with IndyCar and NASCAR.
After the IndyCar race this summer, there was uncertainty about the series returning to the 1 1/2-mile high-banked oval in 2013 since there hadn't been discussions then between IndyCar CEO Randy Bernard and Gossage.
