"The Jock Itch" with Jasmine Sadry: Tiger Going Down! Wait... What?
DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) Say it ain't so! Tiger Woods has dropped to EIGHTH in the world when it comes to golf rankings, thanks to England's Paul Casey taking over!
Well, let's not get TOO excited. Casey only took over the seventh spot that Tiger WAS at, despite missing the cut last week at the Wells Fargo Championship.
Tiger had to skip out on the event because of pesky knee and Achilles' tendon injuries.
Leave it up to Phil Mickelson to be the ONLY non-European player left in the top seven.
You know what THIS calls for, Tiger… www.golf.com
And in OTHER "itch" worthy news…
The iconic Dodgers COULD be looking at filing the big B….bankruptcy!
The LA Times is reporting that owner Frank McCourt might just shove the franchise into a nice fat Chapter 11 before MLB can take it all away from him! He's making this move so he can technically still have authority and the funding to remain in control of the Dodgers, at least for the short time being.
But not so fast, Frank. Your ex-wife Jamie might just rain on your little parade because she's going to argue that you have NO right to take the team into bankruptcy without HER approval, since she does in fact claim half-ownership of the team.
This is EXACTLY why you don't do business with family, especially if that family is your EX-WIFE!
Anyway, Frank's argument to a bankruptcy judge would be the same tired one that he's made to MLB executives and in countless media interviews: All of the Dodgers' financial troubles would be simply resolved if only Fox would just approve of a long-term broadcast deal already!
Well, it just so happens that the contract has been with commissioner Bud Selig for five weeks, even with the Dodgers in jeopardy of missing payroll.
Oops…
If, in fact, Frank were able to persuade a bankruptcy judge that he could actually repay his creditors if the Fox contract went through, the judge could then grant approval over Bud's objections.

While LA is dealing with their mess, it looks like Houston MAY just be getting out of theirs!
ABC 13 in Houston is reporting that a business honcho by the name of Jim Crane is close to finalizing a deal to take control of the Astros from Drayton McClane, to the tune of $680 million bucks!
Geez, if the Astros are worth THAT much, just think of the kind of money Frank can get for his Dodgers! www.abclocal.go.com
Is Milton Bradley's career officially over?
I know, I know; some would already argue that his career HAS been over for a while, now.
In a move that is in absolutely no shock in any form or fashion to anyone living, Milton has been designated for assignment by the Mariners after he was ejected for arguing balls and strikes last week. Of course, THAT ejection was preceded by ANOTHER ejection just a week prior to that when he got tossed for arguing a call as a baserunner.
Milton is only hitting .218 on the season and apparently tensions got so bad over his attitude coupled with his lack of performance, that he actually had to resort to wearing earplugs to drown out the boos he was getting from the Seattle fans AT home!
Then again, there is his whole rap sheet of the domestic violence charge in the off-season, leaving the ballpark during a game last season after being replaced, flipping off TEXAS fans, and referring to himself as the Kanye West of baseball.
The Ricketts and his Cubs are definitely wiping away the sweat from their foreheads after trading THIS guy off.
Anyway, designating Milton for assignment obviously means that he's been scratched from Seattle's40-man roster and the Mariners now have ten days to decide to trade, release, or place him on waivers. www.seattletimes.com
You'd think that after a pitcher throws a gem of a game, he'd be pretty modest about it.
Not if you're Tigers' pitcher, Justin Verlander.
Let's go into the vault and consider a pitcher who threw two of baseball's best games last season for some perspective, shall we?
After his perfect game in May, the Phillies Roy Halladay said, "I don't know what to say. Early in my bullpen, I was hitting spots more than I have been. I felt like I just carried that out there.
And after his no-no in the Playoffs?
"It's surreal, it really is. I just wanted to pitch here, to pitch in the postseason. To go out and have a game like that, it's a dream come true."
So, you'd think that Justin Verlander would follow suit after he tossed HIS second career no-no, right?
Well… about that…
"I feel like I'm coming into myself," He said. "There is no secret where I want to be when I finish...I want to separate myself."
He also added that he wanted to throw SEVEN no-hitters in his career. www.foxsports.com
Braylon Edwards wants to remain a New York Jet SO badly that he's even willing to take a "paycut."
How philanthropic of you, Braylon.
He recently told The New York Daily News that he would strongly consider remaining a Jet EVEN if they offered him a measly $1 million dollars less per season than other teams that are trying to land him!
Per Braylon's words:"It depends on what the discount is. I'm not aiming for the moon. I'm in a certain ballpark. If it's close, then let's do it….This is where I want to be. I don't want to go anywhere else and start over."
Somewhere, fellow teammate, Santonio Holmes is slapping his forehead and dragging his hand all the way down his face for Braylon's "teacher's pet" attitude screwing it up for him, since he's in the same situation as Braylon in terms of free agency… www.nydailynews.com
Congratulations are in order for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for nabbing the title of having the MOST players arrested during the lockout!
The Tampa Bay Tribune is reporting that pot smoker defensive end, Alex Magee was popped for pot possession and driving with an expired tag earlier this week in Tampa!
He joins an elite group of three other Bucs to be arrested in recent months!
Cornerback Aqib Talib is facing charges of aggravated assault in Texas after his March 21st shooting incident. Then, there's pro scouting director, Shelton Quarles, who was arrested on March 4th for driving under the influence in Tampa. And Jay Kaiser, the assistant to the head coach, was nabbed on DUI charges on April 20th in Tampa as well.
Alex's arrest made him the TENTH member to be arrested since January 10th, 2010. www.bay9news.com
And finally…
Bloomberg is reporting that EIGHTY percent of pro-athletes are tangled up in alimony and child support issues!
Holy Baby Mama, Batman!
There's a guy named Frank Brickowski and he's the regional director of the NBA Players Association.
Well, he's been campaigning to get players to sign pre-nups to help take care of said baby mama issues, saying he drew inspiration from Kanye West's "Gold Digger," a song about the perils of relationships with chicks more interested in cash than love.
Throw in the fact that the NFL is currently in a work stoppage and the NBA is possibly headed down the same
road, and there are baby mamas ALL over the country who may actually have to….GET A JOB!
&%%*$W#*$&@#$?!?!!??!
With that said, gobs of NFL and NBA players are lining up to get child support and alimony payments lowered
because of shaved incomes, claims attorney Howard Rudolph of Rudolph & Associates LLP in West Palm Beach,Florida.
Now I ain't sayin' she's a gold digger but…www.bloomberg.com
