FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Get ready to rodeo North Texas – the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo is just is 45 days away! Tickets sell out fast, so giddy up because the ticket office opens today.
The 2017 Stock Show and Rodeo will run from January 13 through February 4. The annual parade happens on Saturday, January 14 and tickets must be purchased in advance for that event. The parade ticket will also get you in to the Stock Show grounds for one day.
If you want to choose your spot or attend one of the Stock Show's 36 rodeo performances you can log on or head to the ticket office today.
Some of the events at this year's Stock Show cost extra -- like the Best of the West Ranch Rodeo, Best of Mexico Celebracion and Cowboys of Color Rodeo. Prices for those events range from $20 to $28.
Tickets can be purchased at the Will Rogers Memorial Center Ticket Office, located at 3401 W. Lancaster Avenue. The rodeo ticket office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
More than one million people are expected to visit during the Stock Show's run.
Participants have been showing livestock in Fort Worth for more than a century, making the Fort Worth Stock Show one of the oldest livestock shows in the country. The rodeo wasn't added until 1918, but as the "World's Original Indoor Rodeo", it's consistently one of the city's top draws each year.
Each year the Stock Show brings in more than $100 million for the Fort Worth economy.
