Through The Lens: Scuba Santa

This time of year Santa is a very busy guy, with all the list making and appearances at malls and stores all over the world, taking toy requests from all the good little boys and girls.  But a little know fact about the red cheeked man from the North Pole is that one of his favorite hobbies is to strap on a self contained underwater breathing apparatus and dive in to the water with the sharks and fish at Sea life Aquarium in Grapevine.

I caught up with him there as he took a break from his normal schedule to slip into the ocean tank for a little dive.  A blacktip reef shark greeted Santa as he and his reindeer helper dived to the bottom of the tank to deliver a Christmas tree made of lettuce for the fish to nibble on and build some Lego ornaments for the tree.

A large cownosed stingray buzzed over Scuba Santa's head also handed out "gingerbread" cookies filled with nutrients and vitamins for the fish to eat.  Then he took time to pose for pictures with all the children at the aquarium.

I must say it is certainly a pleasure getting to see Santa and his helpers having a little fun and spreading Christmas joy even to the sea animals.

P.S.- Santa if you're reading this I have been very good this year and would like to have my very own Go Pro underwater camera.

Mike
