Three Killed In Lamar County Plane Crash
PARIS, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - Three people were killed Saturday when their small plane crashed just after takeoff from an airport in Paris, authorities said.
FAA spokesman Lynn Lunsford confirmed the three deaths in an interview with CBS 11 News. He identified the aircraft as a Piper PA-46.
The Paris News reported online that the plane went down around 9 a..m. in a field off County Road 13850 near the small community of Glory, Texas.
The names and ages of the victims have not been released, but the Texas Department of Public Safety said the victims are all adults males from the Salt Lake City area.
There was fog in the area at the time of the accident, but there is no official word at this point on what caused the crash.
