Third Teen Arrested In Murder Of Dallas Grandfather
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - It allegedly began when masked intruders shot and killed a Dallas grandfather as he tried to protect his family. Days later two teenagers, ages 16 and 17, were arrested.
On Wednesday, homicide detectives arrested a third person. The 16-year-old male suspect was taken into custody at JJ Pierce High School. He is charged with capital murder.
According to Dallas police spokesman Kevin Janse, at least six suspects went to Lorenzo Moreno's home, in the 700 block of Ezekial Ave., just after midnight on Sunday.
The deadly argument allegedly started when the group stormed the house to confront Moreno's 15-year-old granddaughter. The teenager, Moreno's 62-year-old wife and their 34-year-old son were all injured were all injured in the fight. Moreno, 66, was shot and died at the scene.
All of the other family members were treated at a local hospital and released.

Two days after the shooting police arrested 17-year-old Jose Alfaro and his 16-year-old girlfriend. Both are also charged with capital murder.
The third teenaged suspect is being held in an area juvenile detention center.
Police say their ongoing investigation includes trying to identify three additional suspects.
