Thieves Steal Cadillac GPS Navigation Systems
DENTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Thieves struck at a car dealership in Denton. In the end, the windows on several Cadillac vehicles were smashed and their radio navigation systems stolen.
The incident happened Wednesday at the James Wood dealership along Interstate-35E.
In order to steal the systems the thieves had to first get to the vehicles.
"The suspects gained entry by cutting a chain link fence to where these Cadillac's were," Denton police Officer Ryan Grelle explained.
Grelle said half a dozen vehicles were broken into.
"We had approximately six stock radios with navigation… sounds like it was radios that had GPS navigation built into them," he said.
Now police are asking for help in finding the thieves.
"If you hear of anyone that is bragging about doing this or see something that's really cheap and they're trying to sell them at a really cheap, discounted price, be leery of it and call the Denton Police Department," Grelle urged.
Between the smashed windows and stolen equipment, police say damage at the dealership is about $18,000.
