DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Dallas are investigating another ATM theft, but this one was decidedly neater than other recent incidents where criminals smashed into storefronts and left a pile of debris behind.
The theft happened at around 4:00 a.m. early Tuesday morning at a check cashing store in the 6500 block of Skillman Street, near Abrams Road in the northeastern part of the city.
Authorities stated that a white 2007 Ford van pulled up to the store. A masked man then opened the store's front door, wrapped a chain around the location's ATM and got back into the van. A second masked man then drove away, yanking the ATM outside. The men loaded the machine into the van and took off.
There was no mess left behind at all.
A female clerk was inside of the business at the time of the ATM heist, and called 911 to tell police what was happening. She was not injured during the incident. At no time did the suspects show a weapon.
Police are now searching for the two people who are responsible for the theft. There has been no additional information released about the suspects. The van they used during the heist had been reported as stolen.
