The View Back East Week 17: Win and You're in

The Giants and Cowboys play Sunday night for the NFC East title. The Cowboys lost some momentum last week after their victory over the Bucs the week before. They lost Tony Romo early to a hand injury and the team never recovered. The game didn't matter though since the Giants had already defeated the Jets earlier in the day. Tony Romo is going to play though and the team should be ready to take on the Giants at MetLife Stadium. The Eagles' season might be lost but they will be playing hard against the rival Redskins. Here is a preview for this week's games and a recap of last week's.

The Giants got off to a rough start but dominated this game after. The defense stepped up in a big way with five sacks, three turnovers and a safety. Justin Tuck looked healthy and he and Jason Pierre-Paul looked great. If the Giants pass-rush can be this good against Dallas then they should win the game. Eli Manning had a subpar game with only 225 passing yards with a touchdown and an interception, but it did not matter. Victor Cruz had another big game with three catches for 164 yards and a touchdown. Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs combined for 96 yards and two touchdowns.

If they can look this good against Dallas then they should win the game. This game will come down to the defenses and the Giants have a better pass-rush. The Cowboys are banged up right now with Romo and Felix Jones nursing injuries. Their offensive-line has played better lately, but they face a huge test against the healthy tandem of Tuck and Pierre-Paul. The Giants will also be playing for Coach Tom Coughlin, because if the Giants lose this game he might lose his job. Cowboys' defensive coordinator Rob Ryan will have his hands full with Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz. Prediction: Cowboys 17 Giants 21.

Eagles 20 Cowboys 7

Philadelphia Eagles v Dallas Cowboys

Once the Giants beat the Jets this game became meaningless. The Eagles were eliminated from playoff contention and the Cowboys couldn't really gain anything by winning. Once Romo got hurt the decision to rest players was easy. Felix Jones started but was taken out early. The Cowboys hope to have everybody healthy for the Giants game. If they lose this game it will be another year that the Cowboys can't get it done before the playoffs. The Eagles won and Vick had a nice game with 293 passing yards and a touchdown.

The Eagles are playing for an 8-8 season. That will be an accomplishment after the way they started. Coach Andy Reid will want to end the season on a high note. The Eagles also want LeSean McCoy to win the rushing title. They play the Redskins this week and it will be interesting to see how the Redskins play. What motivation will they have? Will they play hard for Coach Mike Shanahan? Will Rex Grossman be playing for a starting job next year? The Redskins always show up for NFC East battles, but they are facing what might be the best team in the NFC East. The Eagles will be hungry to close out the season strong and they will be at home. The Eagles should win in a blow-out. Prediction: Redskins 17 Eagles 31

Vikings 33 Redskins 26

The Redskins disappointing season continued as they fell to the lowly Vikings. They could not even beat them after Adrian Peterson got hurt. The team continues to look like a mess. Their defense couldn't stop anybody and their offense looked was too sloppy. Their early season success looks like a mirage and we'll see if Coach Shanahan will get another chance to coach this franchise.

Who will win the NFC East? It will be a showdown and both teams will give it their all. It should be another fun and exciting week and tune in next week to the View Back East!
