The View Back East: Cowboys In Control

The Cowboys are back in first place of the NFC East after a blow-out against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They got some help with the Giants losing to the Washington Redskins. The Philadelphia Eagles are also still alive after they crushed the New York Jets. This week will be a do or die game for all these teams except for the Redskins. The Cowboys play the Eagles and the Giants play the Jets.  It will be another exciting and intense week of the NFL and NFC East. Here are predictions for this week and a recap of last week's games.

Redskins 23 Giants 10

The Giants had a lot of momentum after beating the Cowboys in week 14, but didn't even show up against the Redskins. Their offense was invisible and sloppy. Eli Manning threw three interceptions. They could not take advantage of two early turnovers by the Redskins. Hakeem Nicks dropped an easy touchdown early in the game and the team never recovered. The defense could not stop Rex Grossman when it counted. Rex Grossman threw for 185 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions. Washington's defense rose to the occasion and forced the Giants into mistakes.  It was a moral victory for the Redskins and they played spoiler once again. The Giants did not deserve to win last week and if they play the same way this week it will be an easy victory for the Jets. The Jets defense is tough to throw on, but their offense has been even more inconsistent than the Giants'.  The Giants have more firepower on offense and their pass-rush can get to the Jets offensive line. Mark Sanchez has struggled this season and their offensive line has struggled to protect him. Prediction: Giants 27 Jets 24

The Redskins play the Vikings this week and it should be a blow-out. Rex Grossman should have a field day against the Vikings secondary. Prediction: Redskins 27 Vikings 10

Eagles 45 Jets 19

The Eagles demolished the Jets and never gave them a prayer to win. The Eagles defense forced four turnovers and sacked Mark Sanchez four times. Their pass-rush has been scary lately and this team's been on fire. LeSean McCoy had another huge game with 102 rushing yards and three touchdowns. The Eagles need the Giants to lose out and they need to win out in order to make the playoffs. They have a huge game this week on the road against the Cowboys in Dallas. If the Giants win, they won't have much motivation to play, but if the Giants lose then this is a huge game for both teams. Felix Jones is questionable to play for Dallas after missing practice all week. The Eagles are hot and need this game desperately. Prediction: Eagles 24 Cowboys 21

Get ready for another exciting week. Playoff implications are on the line! Tune in next week for another edition of the View Back East.
