DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - People in Thanksgiving Tower on Elm Street in downtown Dallas were forced to evacuate at 6 p.m. Wednesday after reports of a possible bomb threat.

Those inside the 50-story building located at 1601 Elm Street said they heard instructions on the intercom to evacuate immediately and use the stairs.

When Dallas Fire-Rescue and police arrived, they met with an employee of a business located inside the building.  The employee said he was on the phone with a client who lives out of state.  Sometime during the conversation, the client became upset, obtained the specific location of the business, and made threats to blow up the building.

Employees notified building security at which time a decision was made to evacuate the building.

Responding officers used multiple K-9 units and other resources to determine that the threat was a hoax.
