Texoma Lawmen Destroy Mexican Cartel Pot Field

The 750 or so pot plants, some as high as 15 feet were pulled last week after being discovered south of Whitesboro in Grayson County.   -Grayson County Sheriff's office Sergeant Ricky Wheeler believes a Mexican cartel planted the marijuana and says these cartels are known for their violence.   "We haven't seen that type of violence in this area, but when the cartels are coming in, that's something that we can eventually expect."
He says cartels have been known to place guards and booby traps to keep people away from their grows.   Wheeler says this is the first cartel grow found in his area but doesn't think it will be the last as the Texoma region is rural, offers
sandy soil and plenty of access to water.
