Texas QB Ash Says 'Good To Be Back' After Injuries
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Texas quarterback David Ash met with reporters for the first time in almost a year Monday, declaring it feels "good to be back" after concussion symptoms wiped out most of his 2013 season.
Ash says a lot of people told him to give up football but he never really considered it. He says team doctors told him he could play again. Ash also says he had a lot of talks with his family about his return.
Ash was injured in the second game last season and played only one more half before he was injured again. He also sat out part of spring drills with a broken foot.
Despite those problems, new coach Charlie Strong says Ash is the starter entering training camp.
