Texas Native Swick Returns To UFC Octagon

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - After a two and a half year absence due to multiple injuries "Ultimate Fighter" season one alum and Houston's own Mike "Quick" Swick returns to The UFC Octagon Saturday night on FOX.

"UFC On Fox" kicks off at 7:00 p.m. (CT) and is headlined by a light heavyweight title contender's match up between former champ Mauricio "Shogun" Rua and Brandon "The Truth" Vera.

Swick will be battling another former Ultimate Fighter contestant. DaMarques Johnson, in a welterweight attraction.  With a record of 14-4, Swick earned his nickname "Quick" after starting off his UFC career with several victories by way of speedy stoppages.

After being on the cusp of a title shot, Swick was sidelined by multiple injuries and a stomach condition that caused him to lose muscle mass, forcing him to dramatically alter his diet.

A very popular fighter, UFC fans are eagerly anticipating his long awaited return to the cage.

I talked to Mike about his long layoff, how he thinks he matches up with his opponent, and whether or not his time away will alter his trademark aggressive style that has won him so many supporters.
