HOUSTON (AP) — Authorities say a Houston man who may have lived in Fort Worth facing charges in seven sexual assault cases is also the prime suspect in eight other cases dating back to 2012.
Police said Monday that DNA evidence obtained after 33-year-old Marquis V. Tate's arrest earlier this month led to charges in five cases. Photo identifications by victims tied him to the two other cases.
Investigators say they believe there may be additional victims.
After the first sexual assault in 2012, Tate possibly lived in Philadelphia and Ohio. Police say he permanently returned to Houston in 2015 and continued attacking women.
Houston police Officer Monica Fortson says she's concerned that Tate may have committed similar crimes in other cities.
Tom Radosevich, Tate's attorney, says he's investigating the facts surrounding the charges.
