Texas House Passes Bill Outlawing Texting While Driving

AUSTIN, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - For the third time, the Texas House has passed a bill outlawing texting while driving.
The measure was vetoed by then Governor Rick Perry in 2011, and last session it passed in the House again - but stalled in the Senate.
Rep. Tom Craddick of Midland, the bill's author, says it passed the House by over 100 votes today and he hopes the third time will be the charm.
Rep. Craddick says he's gotten very positive feedback from his fellow state Senators.
The bill is called the Alex Brown Memorial Act. Brown was a West Texas high school student killed five years ago in a crash while she was texting and driving.
