Texas Cities Earn Good Grades for Educational Improvement

Several Texas cities score well in a new report looking at education problem solving.  Three Texas cities score a "B" in a report looking at the ability of cities to quickly adapt and use new education tools to improve the quality of learning done by the Fordham Institute.  Frederick Hess lead the study.  "Texas cities on the whole tend to score quite well."  Austin, Ft. Worth and Houston scored "B's", Dallas a C and not enough information was gathered from San Antonio and El Paso to give those cities a final grade.  Hess says the state level reform addressing quality control and accountability along with local city government and business community support helped Texas cities do well, by the way no city studied got an "A."
