Texas A&M Launches Accountability Website
BRYAN (AP) - Texas A&M University has launched a website that offers such data as graduation rates, faculty workloads, demographics and student debt.
The Eagle of Bryan-College Station reports the site accountability.tamu.edu gathers data already public available in one place.
Accountability was the center of a public feud between A&M and the University of Texas at Austin on one side and the Texas Public Policy Foundation on the other. The conservative think tank close to Gov. Rick Perry produced a series of tenets it called "seven breakthrough solutions" that generated a backlash from university alumni and academics. The foundation issued a report that reduced a faculty member's value to a financial figure, listed in red or black.
Critics called the findings inaccurate. The Eagle reports the website contains no such figures.
