AUSTIN (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — A Texas man has been accused of beating his 1-year-old daughter and yanking out one of her teeth over potty training failures.

Travis County jail records show 27-year-old Bryan Davis of Austin was being held on a charge of Felony Injury to a Child. His bond has been set at $500,000.

Davis was arrested Tuesday, but it was July 9 when doctors treated his 20-month-old daughter for serious injuries including 16 rib fractures. Austin police say the girl apparently went to the bathroom on the living room floor and was beaten for not making it to the bathroom.

Davis told police that the girl had a seizure while using an inhaler, and he pulled one of her front teeth while removing the device.

Jail records don't list an attorney for Davis. Further details on the girl weren't immediately available.
