GILBERT, Ariz. (AP) — Police say former NFL Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb had a blood alcohol level that was more than twice the legal limit when he was arrested on suspicion of DUI in Arizona last month.

Police in the Phoenix suburb of Gilbert said Tuesday that lab test results show McNabb's blood alcohol level was 0.17. The legal limit in Arizona is .08 and anything 0.15 or higher qualifies as extreme DUI.

A message left at a Phoenix area phone number listed for the 38-year-old McNabb was not immediately returned Tuesday.

According to police, his vehicle rear-ended another vehicle June 28.

No injuries were reported. McNabb was cited and released from a police facility.

McNabb played 13 years in the NFL after being drafted by Philadelphia with the second overall pick in 1999.
