Terrell Murder Suspect In Custody

TERRELL (CBSDFW.COM) - Terrell police found a 42-year-old man shot to death in a car outside The Brownstone Apartments at 1300 S. Adelaide Monday shortly after 8:00 p.m.
Witnesses identified the alleged shooter and he was quickly taken into custody by Terrell officers as he was still in the complex in the crowd.
He has been identified as Hubert Vaughn Thomas, 39 of Terrell. Police say he is the primary murder suspect.
Just minutes later another subject was reported to be in the area of the 600 building, with a weapon. He was quickly located and taken into custody by on scene officers. He remains a person of interest and his involvement remains under investigation. He has active warrants for his arrest. He is not being named.
The victim, of Cedar Hill, suffered multiple gun shot wounds and he was shot through the windshield of the vehicle.
About 9:32 p.m., a second officer assist was dispatched as there was a reported fight in the crowd and a large group was becoming unruly.
Kaufman Sheriffs' Deputies and Texas State Troopers responded.
Police say no additional arrests have been made and order has been restored at the complex.
