Tens Of Thousands Turn Out For Arlington July 4th Parade
ARLINGTON (KRLD) - An estimated 50,000 people turned out for Arlington's 4th of July parade on Monday morning.
You can't have a 4th of July parade without a band and the Sam Houston High School Texan Marching Band was among the half a dozen or so bands playing salutes to America.
But not all the military veterans were in the parade. Bobbie Kanehl is a Navy Veteran of the Korean War and watched the 46th annual event from his lawn chair, with his wife beside him.
"Last year was the only year we've missed. She was sick," Kanehl said looking at his wife. "It's just nice to see everybody turn out and enjoy themselves."

Attendance didn't seem to be affected by the heat, as the temperature inched up thousands lined the parade route, some waving flags, and others wearing red, white and blue to see the 150 parade entries.
"I like the floats and the cars," one little girl said.
But the weather and two-mile-long parade route did drain some things. Several antique cars, including a double-decker bus, broke down in the heat.
