Juvenile faces murder charge after high school student shot, killed in Dallas
DALLAS — A 16-year-old has been arrested and charged with murder in connection to the death of a Justin F. Kimball High School High School student who was killed after a Friday night football game.
Dallas police reported that officers responded to a call about the shooting in the 8000 block of Polk Street around 10:50 p.m. near West Wheatland Road.
The preliminary investigation reveals that a "large crowd" gathered at the scene and started following 17-year-old David Washington. A fight broke out, and the suspect suspect shot Washington in an area across from John Kincaide Stadium.
Dallas Fire-Rescue transported Washington to a local hospital, where he died.
In response to Friday's shooting, Dallas ISD officials announced that Kimball High School will receive additional mental health specialists and personnel to support students and staff.
