Tampa Bay Player Turns Himself In To Garland Police
GARLAND (CBSDFW.COM) - Less than 24 hours ago a North Texas arrest warrant was issued for Tampa Bay Buccaneers player Aqib Talib. Wednesday morning the cornerback turned himself in to police in Garland.
Talib is accused of firing a gun at his sister's boyfriend on March 21.
Garland police believe Aqib and his mother, Okolo Talib, were involved in the disturbance in the 900 block of Green Pond Drive.
Police say both the 25-year-old player and his mother shot at Shannon Billings, who was not injured. Just hours before the alleged shooting, Billings had been listed as a suspect in a disturbance and was charged with assault and interference with an emergency phone call.
Aqib Talib was booked and released on $25,000 bond. His mother, Okolo, turned herself in on Tuesday and later posted bond on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
Both cases will be presented to a Dallas County Grand Jury.
